Terri J. Vaughn

Terri J. Vaughn first stole America’s heart with her portrayal of the lovable Lovita Alizay Jenkins on The Steve Harvey Show. After six successful seasons, she made her way to Will Smith's executive produced, All of Us, as Jonell Abrams, a witty school teacher. Terri then effortlessly morphed into Renee, a sassy and hilarious nurse, on Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns. Terri can also be seen as Melisse, on OWN's hit drama series, Greenleaf, and recently reunited with Cedric The Enteretainer, as his wife on BET’s The Comedy Get Down. Terri went on to find herself teamed up once again with her former castmates, David and Tamala Mann and Tony Rock, on BounceTV's hit comedy Mann & Wife. From her first professional acting job, a 20-city tour of the stage play Tellin’ it Like it Tiz, this San Francisco native has proven herself a respected and talented go-to in the entertainment business.

Terri has been honored with three NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work on “The Steve Harvey Show." She was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on the groundbreaking series Soulfood, as Eva Holly, Byrd's (Malinda Williams) lesbian love interest. Included on Terri’s extensive resume is Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls, starring Gabrielle Union and Idris Elba, as well as the independent dramedies, Dirty Laundry, opposite Loretta Devine, 3 Can Play That Game opposite Vivica Fox and Love By Chance, opposite Black Panther's, Atandwa Kani, to name a few.

Terri has produced multiple projects under her independent production company, Nina Holiday Entertainment, with her producing partner Cas Sigers-Beedles. A Cross to Bear was their first television movie and GMC Network's first movie ever. Then Between Sisters, which aired as the network's highest rated show and Sugar Mommas, an NAACP Image Award nominee, are among the projects Terri created, starred in and produced under Nina Holiday Entertainment. NHE also produced the family film, Hamlet & Hutch, starring actor Burt Reynolds and the highly acclaimed Girlfriends’ Getaway, produced by and starring Terri, Malinda Williams, Garcelle Beauvais and Essence Atkins, which premiered as the highest rated original movie in TVOne history. The sequel, Girlfriends Getaway 2 premiered August 2015. NHE has continued on to produce over 15 movie projects and has been featured in Ebony Magazine's "The New Hollywood of the South" as one of Atlanta's top companies.

Always pushing to grow creatively, in 2015 Terri made her television and film directing debuts. She directed an episode of BounceTV’s Mann & Wife, starring David and Tamela Mann. Then she directed the hilarious ‘Friday-isque’ independent comedy, #DigitalLivesMatter, starring social media comedic influencers, DC Young Fly and Emmanuel Hudson, which aired on BET October 2017 and is now streaming on UMC.TV.
